Standard dip looks fantastic, but it lives in the matte-to-satin world. If you want that mirror-deep, head-turning shine, this is the upgrade. Ultra High Gloss turns the dip up to a glass-like finish without giving up the one thing that makes dip special — you can still peel it.
What it is
Ultra High Gloss is a clear, peelable top coat sprayed over your finished color. It's not paint and it's not a wrap — it's a glossy clear layer that lifts a standard dip into wet-look territory while staying fully reversible.
The result is a deep, glass-like shine that reads like a freshly painted car from across the parking lot. Because it's UV-resistant, that shine holds up to the sun instead of dulling out, which matters when your car sits in Charleston heat.
Benefits
- Deep, glass-like wet-look shine — the gloss of a painted car, on a coating you can peel.
- 100% peelable — it doesn't lock you in; the whole job still comes off clean with no residue and no paint damage.
- UV-resistant — built to hold its shine under the sun rather than fading or hazing.
- Makes pearls and color-shifts pop — the clear gloss adds depth that makes Pearl TopCoat and ColorShift flake really come alive.
- Show-car look, daily-driver flexibility — get the wow factor without committing to permanent paint.
Standard finish vs. Ultra High Gloss
Every dip job comes in Gloss or Satin Matte at no extra charge. Ultra High Gloss is a separate premium top coat that goes well beyond standard gloss for that true glass-like depth:
| Finish | Look | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Satin Matte (standard) | Smooth, low-sheen, stealthy | Included |
| Gloss (standard) | Shiny, clean reflection | Included |
| Ultra High Gloss | Deep, glass-like, wet-look mirror shine | +$400 (+$500 X-Large) |
Pricing / how to get it
Ultra High Gloss runs +$400 on most vehicles, or +$500 for X-Large vehicles like full-size SUVs and trucks. That's an add-on to your dip job — the color coats go down first, then the gloss top coat. It's "from" pricing that can shift a bit with your specific vehicle, color and prep, so I'll confirm the exact number on your quote.
Add it when you build your free quote and you'll see it folded right into your total.
How it works
- Color first. Your vehicle is prepped, masked and coated in your chosen color.
- Gloss on top. I lay on the Ultra High Gloss clear coat in even passes to build that deep, glass-like shine.
- It cures out wet-looking. The finish sets up into a glossy, reflective surface that holds up to UV.
- Care is the same. Hand-wash it, skip automatic brushes, and keep a pressure washer off the edges — and when you're ready for a new color, it peels.
Is it right for you?
If you're running a Pearl or ColorShift and want the flake to absolutely sing, Ultra High Gloss is the move — see how those work in my guide to color-shift and pearl finishes. If you care more about toughness and chemical resistance than mirror shine, look at Dip Armor™ instead — and either top coat pairs beautifully with a full vehicle dip.
